The first one I got was broken but all clad replaced it and the new one works greatCon: The head does not fit a standard wide mouthed mason jar.Pro: The head is large enough to process a large amount at once.Con: There is this rubbery substance on the handle with membrane buttons. This will eventually wear out, where as all steel all the way up and tactile buttons would last much longer. This is a very minor con, they actually feel fine.Pro: It has all the power you will ever need, It liquefies smoothies, soups, sauces, (including mayonnaise) and traces soap.Con: If you don't pay attention to how you connect the blending shaft to the motor there is a definite pinch hazard.Pro: The blending shaft is long for reaching into tall vessels.Pro: It's corded so you never have to worry about running out of battery, or an internal battery reaching end of life and not being able to be replaced.Pro: It has variable speed and a turbo speed function. The buttons are on when you press and off when you don't. Simple.Con: It's expensive.I'd buy another one if I lost this one. It's the best immersion blender I've used.I looked at hand blenders that cost $300-100.This one has a 600watt motor that makes it more powerful that more expensive models. But the tipping point for me was the 9 inch shaft. That allows me to use it in deeper pots which I use for my catering business. A 5 Star Win!!I love everything about this mixer! I had a corded mixer for years. Worked great, but the cord is cumbersome, especially if you're picking it up and putting it down during food prep. With this unit, it's cordless, so much better to work with. The construction is supreme. Hey, it's All-Clad and you get all the quality you'd expect from an All-Clad piece of equipment. You push and hold the button at the top to turn on. It turns off automatically in a few minutes. It comes with 4 pieces total. 2 are the separable unit itself. The third is the charging unit and the forth is a black plastic cap that you insert the device into to protect the bottom of it. Hint: To clean, place in a half glass of soapy water and let 'er rip for 30 seconds or so, then rinse off. This is a bit pricey, but if your kitchen is like mine, you have All-Clad, Kitchen-aid and Vitamix appliances. Quality matters. Spend the money once and be done with it.I had bought this for blending sauces, gravies, and soups, but found it is also perfect for making blended drinks like iced mochas, matcha, and frozen fruit & veggie smoothies.I have used it at least twice every day for over 2 years and it is still going strong!I have owned this immersion blender for almost two years. I purchased in April 2020 and I use it a lot. I have had no issues with the blender, shaft, food getting inside shaft, smelling bad, or loss of power. I have blended tons of soups, make smoothies regularly, homemade dressings, just to name a few things. I absolutely love the powerful motor and the turbo is good for a quick burst of power when needed.I rarely use my regular blender any more and am thinking of giving it away. I love the fact that I can blend my soups right directly in the pot. It is very easy to clean and use. My husband was surprised at how easy it is to use and the powerful motor. The one thing you must be mindful of is that you cannot run this for more than a minute at a time. But considering how powerful the motor is, that one minute gets a lot of work done. Not sure how food gets stuck inside the shaft as others have posted. I have never had that problem nor with it smelling bad.If used properly and not overworked beyond the recommended time usage this will last a long time. Well worth the money I spent and am very happy with my purchase. Yes, I would recommend this product.Replaced my smaller older one with this newer one. Great brand and quality. Much longer stem and more powerful. Very happy! As others have noted the key favourable characteristics are the powerful motor, larger blender head, and long shaft. The significant knock against the blender is the frequent tendency to come apart while in use. This happens to me often, particularly while blending thick smoothies and other substances. You have to be careful not to rotate the bender in the same direction that is used to unlock the shaft. This lack of a robust locking/unlocking mechanism is a significant feature that lowers my overall rating. After about two months of having the unit the locking mechanism that connects the shaft and the handle piece broke, making it impossible to separate the two pieces. Although it was still functional, it was hard to clean and inconvenient to store.Recently while using the unit we noticed a metal piece in our food. Very sharp which looked like a blade but could not tell where it came from.I purchased a second unit in Feb 2020. It is now April 2020 and the unit broke. The quality of the build is incredibly weak but it is a very strong unit and gets the job done so I bought the second one but this was much worse than the first in terms of build quality. This unit is not very well made but it is very powerful. Durability is not there. The sad thing is that this still seems to be the best unit for the price so I may need to buy another one unless I can find another option.I used to have a Cuisinart immersion blender, and it worked well for many years. When it finally died I decided to "upgrade" to All-Clad. Unfortunately I haven't noticed better blending, and the head is wider so I can no longer fit it into the same blending receptacles that I used with the Cuisinart. It's also taller and/or more top heavy. The Cuisinart blender came with a handy 1-cup measured blending cup for sauces/dressings and small amounts. It was designed to be the right size and width to not splash out, but the All-Clad is too wide for it and didn't come with its own cup. The Cuisinart had come with a whisk (never used it) and a mini processor (used it occasionally). I was fine with the All-Clad not coming with extra gadgets as I anticipated more power, but I haven't seen proof of that so I wish I'd stuck with the cheaper Cuisinart immersion blender as the replacement.Used the blender 2 times so far. Tried making a smoothy with frozen banana chunks. The blender both times stopped working as i was trying to blend the frozen banana chunks. Had the power set on max 5 setting. Once it eventually got through the chunks it was able to keep running without stopping. I like the cordless convenience more than my past corded hand blender, but if you are trying to find a powerful hand blender, i would think the vitamix hand blender from videos i watched would work better due to its 3 blade chopper vs this 2 blade chopper.
