I usually wear between an 8.5 and a 9. I got a 9 and it was just right with a pair of SmartWool socks (medium/thick socks). You may have trouble getting them on if you have a high arch, as there isn't a lot of give in the ankle area where the zipper opens it. The heel on mine slips just a little as I walk, but I couldn't go a size smaller or my toes wouldn't have enough room.Forget adjustments with any straps you see. The straps are soft, one layer, unstitched leather with 4 holes that make the strap looser, not tighter (maybe you could punch more holes). So there is no tightening around the ankles. There is a snap above the zipper, which will help to keep the strain off the zipper and keep it from unzipping. The molded toe is nice, and the non-slip stitched sole is very good without having huge chunks of traction to get in the way of shifting and braking on the bike. They also come nicely oiled. I am looking forward to getting on the motorcycle with these leather and rubber boots - replacing my "hiking boots".You cannot beat this price for a leather boot. If I change my mind in a month, I will be back to revise this review!
