These would've been awesome pants had the sizing been correct. I already knew I had to order a size up, but two sizes??? This is ridiculous. Sizing isn't consistent either. I recently ordered an 8 in a different pair of pants and they felt perfect, even though in other pants I wear a 6. With these Back Up pants though, I could barely get the size 8 pants over my thighs. My fear with getting a 10 or 12 is that the waist will be super big. I might be willing to try because the quality of construction is fantastic! You would think Columbia was a European company. I typically like Columbia, but if they can't get their women's sizing right, I may have to switch to a different brand. (Ironically, although not as cute, the men's small fit me just right)Update: Just received a 10 and 12 to compare. I need a 9, but they don't make them. The 10's are fitted, kinda snug in the thigh, but not too tight. The pants are labeled "slimming," but who wants a tight fitting hiking pant. The 12's are a little loose, especially in the waist. I'm keeping the 10's. Despite the sizing, they're a great pant. I just upgraded it to 3 stars.
